Get to Know Me:

Well, Hello there! I am Sara Eddison, an empathetic individual who embarked on a transformative journey into psychotherapy in 2022. Fueled by a desire to connect with and support others on their journeys to healing and self-discovery, I decided to attend graduate school to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology (MACP). I am currently completing my practicum placement at Canopy Psychotherapy Centre under the supervision of Derek Cozzi. I offer services in French and English.

My therapy approach is warm, compassionate, and empathic, highly influenced by the Person-Centered approach. I acknowledge each person's journey and give you a space to feel heard, valued, and supported in navigating life's challenges. My gentle nature and effective listening skills allow me to form authentic connections with you, cultivating an environment conducive to healing and growth. I am intensely curious about people's stories, motivations, and perspectives. This allows me to ask insightful questions, explore underlying issues, and uncover meaningful insights.  But it also demonstrates my genuine interest in your experiences; in doing so, I hope to validate your feelings and encourage self-reflection and growth.

I have begun honing my skills in various therapeutic modalities, including humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. Depending on your needs and comfort, I may propose different therapeutic modalities.  Using humanistic therapies, I provide a supportive, empathetic environment where you are encouraged to explore your feelings, take responsibility for your choices, and work towards self-awareness and personal fulfillment. Using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), we collaboratively develop specific skills and strategies to challenge and reframe negative thinking, modify behaviours, and improve coping mechanisms. By drawing on a range of theories and techniques, I am able to tailor therapy to your individual needs.  This approach allows for a customized treatment plan that addresses diverse aspects of your concerns.

I am committed to professional development outside of my practice. I actively participate in workshops, seminars, and supervision sessions to ensure my clients' highest standard of care. My goal is to improve my knowledge and develop therapeutic tools.

At present, I offer services to individuals whose lives are affected by anxiety, depression, life changes, and trauma, If you recognize yourself in those challenges and this approach aligns with your needs, I invite you to reach for a free, 20-minute consultation.
