Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy provides a supportive and confidential space where we explore challenging thoughts, emotions, circumstances, and patterns impacting your life. It's a sanctuary for addressing personal struggles and vulnerabilities in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Together, we work to understand your thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and instigate positive changes. Therapy equips you with the tools to enhance self-awareness, improve relationships, and navigate life's complexities with greater resilience and clarity.
Let's not forget—the therapeutic relationship is a vital component of therapy. Research highlights that a strong bond between therapist and client is the most significant predictor of therapy outcomes. The stronger the rapport with your therapist, the more effective the outcomes. Bearing this in mind, our therapists highly value their relationships with clients, striving to foster a strong, positive connection. Throughout the therapeutic process, our goal is for clients to feel accepted, supported, and empowered.
With extensive experience, our therapists assist clients with various concerns, including relationships/attachment, emotional regulation, grief/loss, identity, self-esteem, discrimination/oppression, anxiety, depression, career changes, life transitions, stress/burnout, trauma, anger management, guilt/shame, and ADHD.
Couple’s Therapy
Couple's therapy is a dedicated space for partners to strengthen their relationship and overcome challenges. It provides a supportive environment where you and your partner can explore communication patterns, address conflicts, and deepen understanding. Whether facing issues like communication breakdowns, trust issues, or navigating life transitions together, couple's therapy offers a pathway to rebuild trust, improve communication, and rediscover intimacy. It equips you both with tools to foster a healthier, more fulfilling partnership.
Couple's therapy may feel more vulnerable than individual therapy as we potentially share ourselves and vulnerabilities with our partner in new ways. We may have hesitated to open up in these ways before. Relationships are deeply intimate and private, so letting the therapist into this sacred bond adds another layer of vulnerability. Our therapists recognize and appreciate the unique vulnerability of couple's therapy and the delicate nature of the issues explored. Respecting the privacy and sacredness of relationships, our therapists enter couple's therapy with this acknowledgment, treating the bond with care. Our approach is to be direct yet gentle, guiding couples towards their goals and improved, deepened connection.
Clinical Supervision & Consultation
Currently, clinical supervision and consultation is provided by the Clinic Founder, Derek Cozzi. Below is Derek’s approach to clinical consultation and supervision.
Clinical supervision is a structured process designed to ensure the well-being of clients and enhance the professional development of psychotherapists. It offers a safe and supportive space for supervisees to refine their psychotherapy skills, deepen their knowledge, and strengthen ethical and reflective practice. Supervision, at times, involves exploring missteps, blind spots, and personal biases, creating a vulnerable yet transformative experience. My aim is to provide an accepting and nurturing environment where supervisees can navigate these challenges, and feel encouraged and empowered to commit to their growth and development. Together, we work towards filling in blind spots, overcoming biases/transference, and fostering a strong professional identity and therapeutic stance.
Consultation offers a collaborative exchange among mental health professionals, facilitating the sharing of experiences, insights, and advice in a more informal setting. Both clinical consultation and supervision are vital for enriching therapeutic practices at various career stages.
